A choir from Hamilton’s Lincoln M Alexander Elementary School will help mark the first day created to honour the man their school is named after.
January 21st is Lincoln Alexander Day.
He was Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor from 1985 to 1991. Alexander was also Canada’s first black MP and federal cabinet minister. He died in 2012 at the age of 90.
At next Tuesday’s Queen’s Park Ceremony, which will be presided over by Lieutenant Governor David Onley, the choir from the school bearing his name will sing O Canada.
