Three adults in floating pink flamingo rescued from water: Hamilton Police

Hamilton Police conducted an early morning rescue after a large pink flamingo pool float with three adults on board ended up several kilometres from shore.
Police released the picture of the flamingo float, saying the family entered the water in the float from Pier 4 shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
They brought a few things with them, oars and an air horn but none had life jackets.
Things took a turn when the family was unable to paddle back to shore and they ended up floating on the water for nearly four hours.
They eventually decided to call 911 when the colder temperatures started to set in and large ships passed by.
Everyone was brought back to shore safely and no one was hurt.
Police are reminding everyone that flotation devices should be tied off when used in large and deep bodies of water, adding that they can be dangerous and untrustworthy.
