Pigs on the loose after a truck overturned

A truck carrying pigs to Fearman’s Pork Plant overturned just after 7 this morning, sending pigs onto the street and emergency crews to the scene. The area of Appleby Line and Harvester Road will remain closed for the time being while police investigate the accident, and round up any remaining pigs.

About 150 pigs are still trapped in the truck. The driver of the truck is being treated for minor injuries.
