Petition for stronger barriers at St. Catharines aquatic centre after child’s death

A Change.org petition has been created following the death of an 8-year-old boy outside the Kiwanis Aquatic Centre in St. Catharines.
The petition is suggesting that the current barrier between the parking lot of the aquatic centre and Lester B. Pearson Park is not sufficient.
“The west side of the parking lot at this location is a heavily trafficked walkway, especially by children traveling between the aquatic centre and the park,” the petition says.
A Go Fund Me for the boy’s family was also created, identifying the boy as Thomas Kunst Locks and that he has a twin brother.
Niagara police continue to investigate the death of this young boy.
