Pentagon investigating U.S. senator for misconduct after controversial video emerges

The Pentagon has confirmed its investigating a United States senator for allegations of misconduct, after they joined several other lawmakers in a video directed towards American troops and the intelligence community, encouraging them to refuse unlawful orders.

The move has sparked fierce debate around the first amendment, and the Department of Defences long standing tradition of remaining apolitical.

The senator in question is Mark Kelly, a lawmaker from Arizona. He’s a former navy officer, pilot, and astronaut.

The video in question, released last week, has stirred up the White House and President Trump who questioned Kelly’s motive as being akin to sedition, something Trump says can be punished by death.
