Pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Niagara

A 65-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car on Thursday in the Niagara region.

The incident happened just after 10 p.m. on Southworth St. near Morningstar Av. when the woman stepped onto the street and was struck by a Pontiac Vibe going northbound.

Niagara Police say she was then thrown into the path of a second vehicle and was hit again by a Chevrolet Suburban in the southbound lane.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering fatal injuries.

It was reported that she was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Neither driver involved in the collision suffered any physical injuries.

The name of the woman has not been released out respect for the family.
