Patio expansions in Niagara Falls likely for Centre Street and Fallsview Boulevard

Expanded outdoor patios are likely to return to Centre Street and Fallsview Boulevard in 2022.

Niagara Falls city council will consider a report today recommending staff re-install concrete barriers that will allow for the amenities to be in place until the end of October.

“Tonight, we’re going to make our decision if we’re going to go forward with it and certainly we want to continue to support our small and medium businesses,” said Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati. “They’re the backbone of the economy, they have been hurt the hardest and we want to do everything we can to help them.”

Last March, council approved temporary zoning regulations for outdoor patios and sidewalk cafes until Dec. 31, 2022.
