Passenger in hospital after motorcycle and deer collide: OPP

A person has been taken to hospital after being ejected from a motorcycle following a collision in Perth County.

Ontario Provincial Police were called to Perth Line 44 in Perth East around 4 p.m. Friday.

Police say two people were thrown from a motorcycle after a deer entered the roadway and collided with the vehicle.

The passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are reminding drivers to be extra vigilant on the roadways as the nicer weather approaches.

OPP has also offered the following tips for motorcyclists to enhance their safety.

  • Wear highly visible clothing
  • Properly position motorcycle on roadways
  • Reduce low light and night riding
  • Do not take chances or make risky maneuvers
  • Ride at the appropriate speed and never in excess of the posted limit
  • Never ride after consuming alcohol or drugs
