P.R. firm has contract terminated

The dialogue partners in charge of a botched Hamilton P.R. campaign have had their contracts terminated.

It was decided at a city council meeting Monday for the contract to end on “mutually agreed upon” terms. The city’s “Our Voice, Our Hamilton” campaign, which cost almost $400,000 was launched last month to engage the public in a discussion about the future of municipal services. But many city members criticized the project’s Ottawa consultants for being out of touch with Hamiltonians.
For instance, on the website, the firm put photos of other American cities and towns named Hamilton. There was also concern they didn’t understand that HSR is the municipal transit system.
The city says it will figure out how to complete the contract with the money that’s left.
