Ottawa signals for new Canada-U.S.-Mexico trade negotiations

After months of anticipation over a new trade agreement between Canada and the United States, Ottawa has officially notified the White House that it is ready to return to the negotiating table. Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc sent a letter to both the Trump administration and Mexico, recommending that the three countries renew their continental trade pact. The move comes after the United States and Mexico began their own negotiations without including Canada in the early talks.
