Oregon student dead after school shooting

A high school student is dead after an on-campus shooting in Oregon. Authorities say the shooter is also dead.

It happened just after 8 a.m. at Reynolds High School outside Portland.

The campus was put into lockdown, but police say the scene is now secure.

At this time, it’s unclear what led to the shooting. Many parents were anxiously waiting outside the school to make sure their kids were safe.

“We’re sure he’s okay, but until you hear that final word, you always have the thought. We’re just waiting,” said Craig Tuholski, a parent of a student at the school.

According to local media, the students are being evacuated room by room by the police.
