Opposition to NOTL development

About 150 people who live in Niagara-on-the-Lake attended a public meeting Monday night; and many of them are saying “no” to a hotel and restaurant development proposed by renowned artist Trisha Romance.

Opponents say the development, which includes a 106-room hotel and a 200-seat restaurant, would damage the character of the historic town.

Romance and her husband Gary Peterson own a 13 acre estate property.

They want to rezone the land to build the hotel and restaurant, along with an artists’ centre, an events pavilion, a spa and conference facility with parking for 200 vehicles.
