OPP warn owners to check vehicles after trucks tampered with

Dodge Ram truck owners are being urged to check for fluids leaking from their vehicle after a number of trucks were tampered with.

The Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P) say they have been receiving reports of trucks in the Orangeville and Caledon area being deliberately damaged while they are parked and unattended.

In all cases, the rear differential cover was removed causing the lubricating fluid to leak.

The lack of lubricating fluid causes the vehicle’s differential to heat up, resulting in extensive damage to the rear end which may seize or completely lock up while the truck is in motion.

This failure can occur suddenly at any speed and could lead to a collision and possible injury.
