OPP shut down illegal cannabis store in St. Catharines
An illegal cannabis store in St. Catharines has been shut down as part of a closing blitz led by the Ontario Provincial Police.
On Tuesday, the OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team executed search warrants at seven different storefronts across Ontario.
One of the stores involved was “St. Paul Smoke Shop” located on St. Paul Street in St. Catharines.
Police say the store did not have authorization from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to sell cannabis or cannabis products.

Officers seized more than $11,000 in cash, 4.7 kilograms of dried cannabis flower, 87 packages of edibles, 32 vape pens, 12 grams of shatter, 60 grams of hash, as well as cell phones.
As a result, Dawn Salazar, 46, of St. Catharines is charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing.
Police say the business has been in operation since at least July 2023 when officers previously executed a different search warrant there.
