OPP seek information after life-altering hit-and-run in Oakville

Police are investigating a serious hit-and-run collision Tuesday evening involving a van and a motorcycle near Oakville.

Officers responded to a crash on the Queen Elizabeth Way westbound before Dorval Drive where it was reported that a van had crashed into a motorcycle.

Investigators say the driver of the van did not remain at the scene.

Detectives say the 47-year-old driver of the motorcycle is a resident of Oakville and was sent to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

The department released a report just before midnight that says the motorcyclist’s injures has been downgraded to life-altering.

Police closed two westbound lanes on the QEW near Dorval Drive for about three hours and re-opened the highway at around 11:20 p.m.
