OPP searches for masked thieves in ATM theft

The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating after a pair of thieves rammed a truck into a gas station and stole an ATM.
Police were called to the Esso Gas Station on Front Rd. in Port Rowan around 12:15 a.m. Monday.
They say the suspects broke into the store and tried to remove an ATM. After their attempts failed, the duo used a pickup truck to smash into the store.
“The ATM was ultimately removed from the store at which time the pickup truck fled from the area with the cash machine in tow. The ATM was later located by investigators in a ditch and has been recovered,” said OPP in a news release.
The store sustained thousands of dollars in damages.
OPP are asking anyone with information that could help with the investigation to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
