OPP kicks off a commercial vehicle safety program

The OPP worked with Halton, Peel and Toronto police to kick off a commercial vehicle safety program this morning.

The safety initiative is to ensure that commercial vehicles are inspected and if a problem is found, the vehicle is pulled from the road. They are also looking for distracted drivers and aggressive drivers. Those drivers will be ticketed or have their licenses suspended.

A collision involving commercial vehicle can be deadly and result in long delays for drivers, so this campaign is to ensure that everyone makes it to their destinations safely.

This event goes on today until 3 pm.
