OPP investigating fatal hit-and-run involving cyclist near Brantford

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a cyclist north of Brantford.

On Jan. 11 at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fail-to-remain collision involving a cyclist on East River Road in Glen Morris.

Authorities say a motorist travelling along East River Road located an unresponsive cyclist and vehicle debris in a ditch. The cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.

East River Road between Glen Morris Road West and Highway 24 are expected to remain closed for several hours while the investigation continues.
