Ontario Provincial Police arrested a Simcoe man Thursday after a search in Norfolk County led to the seizure of weapons, stolen property and suspected illicit drugs.
Officers working with the Haldimand Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit say they executed a search warrant at a home on McDowell Rd. East in Simcoe.
Investigators say they located and seized several items including: stolen property, prohibited weapons, an amount of Canadian currency, replica firearms and an undisclosed amount of suspected illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia.
They say the value of all the seized items is over $15,000.
Dalton Chanyi, 29, of Simcoe has been charged with offences including possessing weapons for a dangerous purpose, possessing proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and having a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Chanyi remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at a Simcoe courthouse Tuesday.
