The provincial government has announced $330,000 in funding aimed at expanding access to sports and recreation for children across Hamilton, Niagara and other parts of Ontario.

The funding is being provided to the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) Foundation with the aim of providing more affordable and accessible sports for kids.

“MLSE Foundation works to improve the lives of youth by creating inclusive and accessible spaces for sport and recreation and delivering programs that promote physical and mental well-being,” the province says in a statement.

The province is targeting community-based projects in the Hamilton, Niagara, Toronto, Durham, Clarington and Blue Mountain areas.
