Ontario reports record 3,519 COVID-19 cases, 89 deaths

Ontario reported 3,519 cases of COVID-19 and 89 deaths on Thursday, marking a new high in daily cases and deaths.

It’s also the fourth straight day daily cases have been over the 3,000 mark and comes as the province completed 65,772 tests.

There are 66,970 tests under investigation.

The province says it has administered at total of 72,631 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by 8 p.m. Thursday. 12,251 of those were administered on Wednesday.

There are 2,173 total vaccinations completed.

Ontario is reporting 3,519 cases of #COVID19 and nearly 65,800 tests completed. Locally, there are 891 new cases in Toronto, 568 in Peel, 457 in York Region, 208 in Windsor-Essex County, 175 in Waterloo and 174 in Durham.

• 1,041 total cases — up 21 from Wednesday
• 843 resolved cases
• 158 active cases
• 35 deaths

Six Nations

• 115 total cases
• 108 resolved cases
• 6 active cases
• 1 death

The death toll is now 4,856 people.

There are 1,472 people hospitalized with COVID-19 across Ontario. There are 363 patients in intensive care and 242 of those are on ventilators.

Another 2,776 cases were marked as resolved.
