Ontario reported 4,505 cases of COVID-19 and 34 deaths on Friday.

The daily case count comes as the province completed 56,206 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were performed is 8.8 per cent.

Here are the COVID-19 numbers for our region

Hamilton

  • 16,113 total cases — up 127 from Thursday
  • 13,594 resolved cases
  • 1,905 active cases
  • 138 in hospital
  • 350 deaths

Niagara

  • 12,863 total cases — up 189 from Thursday
  • 10,145 resolved cases
  • 2,331 active cases
  • 73 in hospital
  • 387 deaths  — up one from Thursday

Brant

  • 2,528 total cases — up 55 from Thursday
  • 2,207 resolved cases
  • 304 active cases
  • 17 deaths  — up two from Thursday
  • 13 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,122 total cases — up 32 from Thursday
  • 1,772 resolved cases
  • 304 active cases
  • 41 deaths

There are 2,287 patients in hospital across Ontario, down from the 2,350 reported on Thursday.

There number of patients in intensive care is up to 818. Of them, 593 are on ventilators.

Another 133,872 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday. There are 355,208 people in the province who have received both required doses.

Another 4,698 cases have been marked as resolved.
