Ontario reports 411 COVID-19 cases, 33 deaths

Ontario reported 411 cases of COVID-19 and 33 deaths on Wednesday, with the province noting that 11 of the deaths occurred in April and May.

The daily case count, another low for the month of June, comes at the province completed 30,456 tests in the last day. The reported positivity rate is two per cent, the lowest in months.

  • 20,915 total cases — up 27 from Tuesday
  • 19,736 resolved cases
  • 336 active cases
  • 45 in hospital
  • 395 deaths  — up three from Tuesday

Halton

  • 17,758 total cases — up 21 from Tuesday
  • 17,369 resolved cases
  • 160 active cases
  • 12 in hospital
  • 229 deaths

Niagara

  • 15,981 total cases — up 29 from Tuesday
  • 15,153 resolved cases
  • 418 active cases
  • 410 deaths
  • 25 in hospital

Brant

  • 3,334 total cases
  • 3,263 resolved cases
  • 51 active cases
  • 20 deaths
  • 4 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 2,673 total cases — up six from Tuesday
  • 2,589 resolved cases
  • 31 active cases
  • 47 deaths

There are 571 people hospitalized with COVID-19 across Ontario, down from the 621 reported on Tuesday. There are 466 patients in ICU due to COVID-19 with 314 of them on ventilators.

177,506 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday.

Another 932 cases have been marked as resolved.
