Ontario reports 3,166 COVID-19 cases and 23 deaths
Ontario reported 3,166 cases of COVID-19 and 23 deaths on Friday.
The reported positivity rate is seven per cent and there were 51,338 tests completed in the last day.
However, the province says the daily case count could be under-reported for Toronto, Central East and Central West, which includes Hamilton, Halton, Niagara, Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk health units, because of a technical issue.
Ontario is reporting 3,166 cases of #COVID19 and over 51,300 tests completed. Locally, there are 876 new cases in Toronto, 817 in Peel, 300 in York Region, 205 in Durham and 148 in Hamilton.

Brant
- 2,871 total cases — up 38 from Thursday
- 2,674 resolved cases
- 177 active cases
- 20 deaths
- 11 in hospital
Haldimand-Norfolk
- 2,411 total cases — up 16 from Thursday
- 2,140 resolved cases
- 225 active cases
- 41 deaths
There are 1,924 patients with COVID-19 in hospital across Ontario, down from 1,964 reported on Thursday.
There are 858 in ICU, with 611 of them on ventilators.
The province administered 144,724 vaccine doses on Thursday, as it opened vaccinations to more Ontarians.

There are 387,484 people in the province who have received both required vaccine doses.
Another 3,875 cases have been marked as resolved.
