Ontario reports 2,903 cases of COVID-19, 41 deaths
Ontario reported 2,903 cases of COVID-19 and 41 deaths on Tuesday as Premier Doug Ford gets set to unveil new restrictions.
The numbers come as the province completed 44,802 tests.
Tuesday’s cases include eight cases of the U.K. variant of the virus, bringing the total number of cases of this variant in the province to 14.
Ontario is reporting 2,903 cases of #COVID19, including eight new cases of the UK variant. Locally, there are 837 new cases in Toronto, 545 in Peel, 249 in York Region and 246 in Niagara. Over 44,800 tests were completed yesterday.

COVID-19 outbreaks have been declared at Cedarwood Village long-term care facility in Simcoe and Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village in Townsend, after a staff member at each facility tested positive.

As of 8 p.m. Monday, 133,553 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, including 8,859 administered on Monday.
There are 1,701 people in hospitalized in Ontario, up from the 1,563 reported on Monday.
Of those, 385 patients are in intensive care and 262 of them are on ventilators.
Another 3,353 cases have been marked as resolved.
