Ontario nurse charged with 8 counts of first-degree murder

A registered nurse is accused of killing 8 seniors in her care. The killings allegedly happening over a span of 7 years at two nursing homes in Woodstock and London.
49-year-old Elizabeth Wettlaufer, made a brief court appearance Tuesday morning before being taken back into custody. The former registered nurse, with 20-year experience worked in the long term care with the victims. 7 of the 8 alleged murders happened at Caressant Care Centre between 2007 and 2014.
Police say the investigation began just last month after receiving information that 8 people had been murdered. During a conference this morning, OPP say the seniors were drugged, but little specifics were given.
The patients have been identified as Arpad Horvath, 75, Maureen Pickering, 79, James Silcox, 84, Maurice Granat, 84, Gladys Millard, 87, Helen Matheson, 95, Mary Zurawinski, 96, Helen Young, 90.
