Ontario leaders’ debate to be broadcast live on Feb. 17

A partnership of Ontario broadcasters will televise an Ontario Leaders’ Debate this month ahead of the provincial election.

The debate will be on Monday, Feb. 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on CHCH, CBC, CTV, Global, TVO, CPAC, CityNews and CP24.

It will also air on all partner television platforms and be simulcast on various radio stations across the province and streamed online.

The debate is scheduled to be moderated by CBC host David Common.

CTV News Queen’s Park Bureau Chief Siobhan Morris and Global Bureau Chief and President of the Queen’s Park Press Gallery Colin D’Mello will join Common in asking questions.

The Ontario Leaders’ Debate is open to leaders of all parties that currently have an elected MPP sitting in the legislature.

The debate will feature party leaders Bonnie Crombie, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party; Doug Ford, leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of OntarioMike Schreiner, leader of the Ontario Green Party; and Marit Stiles, leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party.

The date for the Ontario ‘snap’ election is Feb. 27.
