Ontario is reporting largest single-day COVID-19 case increase

Ontario is reporting 5,790 new COVID-19 cases and seven new deaths Tuesday.
It is the highest single-day case count ever reported.
Health Minister Christine Elliot says 440 people are in hospital with COVID-19. 304 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 136 are fully vaccinated.
In Ontario, 26,113,307 vaccine doses have been administered, with over 253,000 doses administered yesterday.
90.6% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.9% have two doses.

169 patients in intensive care due to COVID-19. 106 of those people are on ventilators.
The province says 90.6 per cent of residents aged 12 and older have at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and 87.9 per cent have received both shots.
