Ontario Fire Marshal investigating minor explosion at Hamilton water plant

The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating a minor explosion at the Hamilton water treatment plant.

Hamilton Fire were called to alarm conditions the Woodward Water Treatment Plant around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officials say there was smoke when crews arrived. They say a minor dust explosion had occurred.

Two staff members who were working at the plant were able to get out of the building unharmed.

The damage is estimated at about $75,000.
