Ontario approves funding for new Beamsville Catholic elementary school

More funding has been approved for the Niagara Catholic District School Board to build an elementary school in Beamsville.
The Ministry of Education approved $24.4 million in total funding to build the St. Luke Catholic Elementary School on Greenlane Road.
“New developments, coupled with growing enrolment across Niagara Catholic, has made it very clear that a new Catholic elementary school is necessary in Beamsville,” said Camillo Cipriano, the Director of Education at the school board.
The project has been in the works since mid 2021, with the goal to teach up to 421 students.
A supplemental request to the ministry for $2 million was approved in 2023 to include a three-room childcare centre, providing 49 infant, toddler, and preschool spaces.
“I look forward to celebrating the groundbreaking for the new St. Luke Catholic Elementary School, and the official blessing and opening,” said Board Chair Danny Di Lorenzo.
Construction on the school is projected to start Oct. 30, with the school projected to open Feb. 2, 2027.
