Ontarians on the hook for $40m over Oakville power plant move

Updated Taxpayers in Ontario will be forced to pay an extra tens of millions of dollars in costs associated with the Liberals’ decision to pull the plug on a power plant west of Toronto.

The Ontario government reached a deal today to move a cancelled gas-fired generating station from Oakville to eastern Ontario. The announcement came as the Liberals were under fire for their handling of the cancelled project, and the withholding of thousands of documents from a legislative committee – which have now been released.
