One final blast of winter before spring

The return of winter weather today was the last things tourists who visit Niagara expected to see.

The roads were wet, snow was falling, and it felt more like December than April.

Many people made their vacation plans weeks ago, and at the bottom of Clifton Hill the view of the falls was blocked by a wall of fog.

“We are so disappointed, we can’t see anything, just white over there,” said one disappointed tourist.

Tourists were escaping to the Tropical Butterfly Conservatory.

Niagara Parks is the daffodil capital of North America, but the cold is delaying their bloom by about two weeks.

The daffodils should be blanketing the Niagara Parks at the end of the month. One million daffodils stretching from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Fort Erie.

But the only thing you could see today was a blanket of snow over everything.
