One dead following serious crash on Highway 53, say OPP

One person has died following a serious collision on Highway 53, just west of Burford.

Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to the scene of the collision — which involved an SUV and a motorcycle — shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday.

The 28-year-old driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say they were a resident of Woodstock, Ont.

Middle Townline Road was closed between Sixth Concession Road and Seventh Concession Road, and Highway 53 was closed between Lawrence Road and Harley Road in Brant for several hours. Police have since reopened the roadways.
