One dead, five injured following fiery multi-vehicle crash on Gardiner Expressway

One person has died and four people are injured after a fiery, multi-vehicle crash on the Gardiner Expressway.

Police say the crash happened in the westbound lanes near Yonge Street around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday during rush hour traffic. The collision sent a plume of black smoke into the air.

At least five vehicles were involved, and three caught fire.

Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
