One dead after car slams into tractor-trailer

The Caledon division of the Ontario Provincial Police say one person has died after a collision in Caledon between a tractor trailer and a car.

The crash occurred shortly after 5 on Saturday morning near the intersection of Airport and Mayfield Roads.

OPP say the car rear-ended the tractor trailer. The force of the impact was so great, it moved the truck forward.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the truck was not injured.

Airport Road has been closed between Mayfield and Old School Roads as police investigate the cause of the crash. Mayfield Road is also closed between Torbram and The Gore Roads
