One arrested in connection with Georgetown Mall break and enter in April

Halton police have made an arrest in connection to a break and enter that took place at the Georgetown Marketplace Mall.

On April 7, two suspects broke into a lottery kiosk inside the mall after it was closed. Police say they stole lottery tickets and attempted to activate them at a nearby convenience store.

On May 3, police asked assistance in identifying the suspects. One of them was identified with help from the community and further investigation led to the identification of the second suspect.

On July 15, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Georgetown where one of the suspects was arrested.

Steven Collins, 42, of Georgetown has been charged with break, enter and commit and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police say the second suspect has been identified but remains outstanding. His identity is not being released at this time.
