Officer injured during traffic stop
A Niagara officer was injured after pulling over a motorcycle that was speeding.
On Sunday afternoon police we on patrol in the area of Oakdale Avenue and Westchester Cresent in St. Catharines. They saw two people on a motorcycle speed past them. When the officers tried to pull the motorcycle over the driver refused and tried to speed off. While the driver was trying to flee he lost control of the motorcycle and it fell on to the officer, injuring his leg. The rider fled and left his passenger behind.
Officers eventually caught up to the driver and arrested him.
Thirty year old Corey Ross is charged with assault of a peace officer with intent to resist arrest and dangers operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court today.
