Oakville students staging breakfast for World AIDS Day

This Saturday marks World AIDS Day – but an elementary school in Oakville will do their own commemoration a day early.

New Central Public School will be holding a family pancake breakfast bright and early tomorrow morning to benefit the Stephen Lewis Foundation, and its efforts to raise awareness about HIV.

Leading up to the breakfast, students at the school were visited by members of Oakville’s Oomama grandmothers to learn more about the impact of the AIDS virus, particularly in places like Africa.

More than 300 families will take part in the massive pancake breakfast.
