Oakville native named youngest player in Major League Rugby

Oakville native Brenden Black made history on Saturday with the Toronto Arrows. The 18-year-old is now the youngest capped player in the history of Major League Rugby.

Black, who is a Junior Arrows Academy player and a member of Canada’s 18 and under squad was called up for what ended as a 47-19 loss to the Utah Warriors in Salt Lake City and he made a number of huge tackles on more senior and experienced players.

Although he did not figure in the scoring, Black was third on the Arrows in kicking meters. The fullback who attended Oakville Trafalgar high school is a graduate of the Crusaders Club program and is a rising star at Guelph University.
