An Oakville man accused of killing his 62 year old mother appeared in court today. 39-year-old Ryan Porte is charged with second degree murder in the death of Judith Wilson.

Flags at Oakville town hall are flying at half mast in remembrance of Judy Wilson. The 62 year old worked in bylaw enforcement for 23 years. In a statement, Oakville Mayor Rob Burton says “her dedication and enthusiasm to Oakville was compelling. Judy touched the lives of many of our staff and community members she will be greatly missed.”

Porte made a brief court appearance where he was formally charged with second degree murder. He has been remanded in custody for a bail hearing on Friday. Police have not said how Wilson died.
