Oakville man charged with sexual assault in child luring investigation: police

Halton police have charged an Oakville man in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a young girl.

The suspect communicated with a 14-year-old girl using Snapchat starting in July 2021.

In late September 2021, the suspect brought the young girl to an Oakville residence and sexually assaulted her.

Police arrested 22-year-old Diego Nunez on Jan. 17. He has been charged with luring a child, sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

Nunez was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

He has several online profiles- Snapchat, Instagram, Twitch, Steam and GitHub- and goes by the names “xxuegoo” or “xxuegoo diego.”
