Oakville man arrested, weapons seized in human trafficking investigation

A 41-year-old man from Oakville has been arrested and faces multiple charges after a six-month-long human trafficking investigation, say police.
Halton police began their investigation in March following allegations that an adult woman was being sexually trafficked and exploited for financial gain.
On Monday, the investigation culminated in a search warrant at a home in Oakville. One man was arrested during the search, and police say they seized a prohibited gun, magazine, ammunition, and approximately $7,500 in cash.
As a result of the investigation, Thomas Jeffers has been charged with the following:
- Procuring
- Receive Material Benefit from Sexual Services
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose- Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – Prohibited Device
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Investigators believe there may be more victims.
