Oakville crash sends male cyclist to hospital with serious injuries

A male cyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle struck him in Oakville Thursday morning.

Halton police say the collision happened shortly before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Upper Middle Rd. and Eighth Line.

Paramedics transported the male cyclist in serious condition to hospital.

The eastbound lanes of Upper Middle Rd. between Golden Meadow Trail and Eighth Line were closed, but the area has since reopened.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.

A police spokesperson says it is too early to determine whether any charges will be laid.
