Norfolk teen charged with 2nd-degree murder in sudden infant death

A 16-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the sudden death of an infant in Port Rowan, Ont., late last year.

Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk County were called around 2 p.m. on Nov. 4 to a home on Front Road, where a baby was found dead.

Following an investigation, the teen from Norfolk County was arrested on Jan. 28 and charged with second-degree murder.

The accused, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
