Norfolk man charged after pedestrian fatally struck by car

A man from Norfolk has been charged after a pedestrian was struck and later died in hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police say a motor vehicle hit a 75-year-old pedestrian at the Mann Ave. and Rutherford Dr. intersection on Aug. 12.

The pedestrian from Norfolk County was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have charged 54-year-old Richard Pereira of Norfolk County with careless driving causing death.

Pereira is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
