Nordstrom to close all of its Canadian stores, cutting 2,500 jobs

Nordstrom is closing all 13 of its stores in Canada, putting nearly 2,500 people out of work.
The retailer says it does not “see a realistic path to profitability for the Canadian business,” in a statement released Thursday.
Most of the department store chain locations were in the Greater Toronto Area.

The company says they have lost money every year since opening in Canada in 2014.
Nordstrom says stores in Canada will continue to operate normally, with a liquidation sale expected to start later this month.
Customers are no longer able to shop online at Nordstrom.ca as the website has already shut down.
