No one injured after appliance fire at downtown Hamilton Chinese restaurant

Parts of Cannon Street West have reopened after an appliance fire broke out at a Chinese restaurant Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the Supreme Chinese BBQ restaurant at 127 Macnab St. North at around 9 a.m.
The Hamilton Fire Department had initially upgraded the alarm to a structure fire, believing the flames had spread to the structure.
First responders had closed Cannon Street West between James and Park streets as they dealt with the fire.
Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Steve Welton said firefighters were able to extinguish the fire inside of a commercial oven before any serious fire spread.
There were no reported injuries from the fire, and there are no estimates on the cost of damages to the structure yet.
