No charges for baby locked in hotel safe

After speaking with the American family involved, Niagara police say they won’t be laying charges in the case of a baby locked in a safe at a Niagara Falls hotel.
Police were concerned because the family had left the Howard Johnson Hotel on Victoria Avenue
before they arrived on Tuesday, but it turns out there was a language barrier that caused a mis-communication.
The family says they immediately asked the hotel to unlock the large safe on the floor after an older child accidentally locked the baby inside while playing with it.
No one was hurt. The family went to police in Markham last night after hearing that police wanted to talk to them.
