Nick Cordero GoFundMe has raised close to $1 million

A GoFundMe page for Hamilton-born actor Nick Cordero has raised close to a million dollars.

The page was initially set up to pay for his medical expenses in Los Angeles and to help his wife and young son.

It had an initial goal of $400,000.

As of Wednesday morning, more than $988,000 has been donated.

Cordero died on Sunday at the age of 41.

He had spent more than 90 days in hospital dealing with COVID-19 and several complications.
