Niagara’s medical officer of health urging businesses to keep checking proof of vaccination

In Niagara Falls, businesses are hoping the easing of restrictions draws more people to Clifton Hill. The local medical officer of health, Dr. Mustafa Hirji is urging businesses to keep checking proof of vaccination.
CHCH News spoke with those out enjoying the sights and sounds of Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, and they say they are happy they don’t have to show proof of vaccination at most places anymore. And the restaurants, who have struggled for the last two years are relieved too.
While many restaurants are happy to see the vaccine passport system go, Niagara public health is urging businesses to keep checking proof of vaccination. Writing in a statement on Tuesday, “public health strongly recommends that organizations maintain proof-of-vaccination and employee vaccination policies.” Niagara’s medical officer of health, Dr. Mustafa Hirji is calling on the province to add booster doses to the definition of full vaccinated.
